“Having struggled to recover fully from a hamstring tear for 18 months, Tom at Body Logic was recommended by a physio friend. Tom was extremely helpful and encouraged me to stay focused on my goal of getting back to running and football. It has been wonderful to finally feel like I have made some good progress!"

COMMON INJURIES

Achilles
tendon injury

Weak or tight calf muscles may contribute to achilles pain. Stretching and strengthening will help prevent issues and aid recovery, but rehabilitation can take many months.

Shockwave treatment may well assist in recovery

Ankle
sprains

One of the most common sports injuries happens when players ‘go over’ on their ankles. This causes a stretching and tearing of the ligaments at the ankle.

Anterior cruciate
ligament sprain (ACL)

The ACL is one of the supporting ligaments inside the knee. Partial cruciate injuries can be treated with rehabilitation, and there may be associated damage to other parts of the knee.

Golfers or
tennis elbow

(medial or lateral epicondylitis)

This is pain felt on the inside or outside of the elbow. It is caused by repeated use of the muscles of the arm and forearm that lead to small tears of the tendons over time.

Shockwave treatment may well assist in recovery.

Knee pain

From runner’s knee to jumper’s knee, and meniscal injury to osteoarthritis, there can be many causes of knee pain, so it’s important to get an accurate diagnosis.
Iliotibial band (ITB) syndrome
Knee pain or hip pain on the outside of the leg that can be caused by tightness of the iliotibial band. Foam rolling and stretching can help settle the symptoms.

Low back or
neck pain

The stresses and strains of sports, work, and daily life can often cause pain in these areas. We can help diagnose the cause and treat the symptoms.

Muscle
strains

Strains are very common in many sports. It’s important to treat the muscles well in the first few days after injury, so follow our self treatment advice to aid early recovery.

Plantar
fasciitis

Pain when you take your first steps in the morning and discomfort in the heel may be caused by plantar fasciitis. Stretching and ice can help, along with a short course of physiotherapy.

Shockwave treatment may well assist in recovery

Shoulder
injuries

Pain in the shoulder could be a rotator injury, shoulder dislocation, shoulder impingement, or bursitis. Many shoulder problems are caused by an underlying muscle weakness.

Shin
splints

This is a generalised pain that occurs in the front of the lower leg along the shin. Shin splints are considered a cumulative stress injury, and can have a number of different causes.

Stress
fracture

Stress fractures in the leg are often the result of overuse or repeated impacts on a hard surface and are best dealt with by resting the injured area, or immobilisation in a cast.

Tendinopathy

Tendons attach muscle to bones and can often become inflamed due to overuse. Tendonitis can cause deep, nagging pain that makes sport almost impossible in severe cases.
